The new system uses a spring loaded catch in conjunction with a keyed shaft and cable drums. In the event of spring failure, the catch engages and holds the door in the current position. If the door is moving, it immediately prevents the door from dropping.

Security Latching

For manually operated doors, a special inside lock secures the door. A sturdy automatically locking spring disc grips around a solid steel bolt to securely retain the door.

Firmly Screwed Hinges

With double-skin Hormann garage doors the hinges between the door sections are firmly screwed through 4 steel layers. With single-skin doors they are screwed through 3 steel layers. For both door types this means reliable fastening for long lasting service life of your garage door.

Galvanized Torsion Springs

The optimally dimensioned springs are galvanized (and not just oil-tempered) for long-lasting functionality. They counter-balance the door weight and ensure an ultra-smooth door action at every stage of operation. Double doors feature 2 springs while single doors have 1 spring.

Top Quality EPDM Bottom Weather Seal

The bottom door seal shows the high standards Hormann delivers. The seal is made of EPDM, a material that is weather-resistant, flexible and offer long-lasting functionality.
